Chapter 1
Rusty
Olivia looked out the window. Rusty was asleep again. She sighed and walked outside to sit beside him. She scratched him on the head and behind the ears. She woke him up. "Oops, sorry." she said with a smile on her face. "You want something to eat?" she stood up and Rusty followed her inside. She poured him a bowl of kitty food and Rusty sat down beside his bowl. He took a few nibbles then stopped; obviously thining about something. Olivia frowned, wondering what was wrong. She shrugged and rubbed him on the back one more time. "Night, Rusty." she went into her room and went to sleep.
Chapter 2
Runaway
Olivia woke up and went yawning into the kitchen. She looked around for Rusty...he wasn't in the kitchen. "Rusty?" she called. He usually waited in the kitchen for her to give him his breakfast, but as I stated a second ago, he wasn't there. "Rusty?" she called again. She unlocked the door and went outside. Maybe he was still asleep. He liked to sleep outside for some reason...he wasn't there. Olivia was a little worried. She went back into the kitchen and sat down. 'He'll come in soon...' she told herself. She sat there for an hour. Still no Rusty. Another hour. Still no Rusty. She frowned as her eyes filled with tears. "Where could he have gone?" she said loudly. Someone walked in the front door. Olivia looked up. It was Louise, her neighbor and best friend. "What's wrong?" she said. "Rusty ran away." Olivia sighed. "NO!" Louise gasped.
